According to troopers, the incident between the drivers of a black pickup truck and a white van occurred just after 9 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway near the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County.

Troopers said while the drivers were stopped in traffic, the driver of the pickup truck exited his vehicle and began walking toward the van in an “aggressive manner.”

The driver of the van tried to avoid the confrontation by driving off and subsequently struck the other driver with the van’s side mirror, troopers said.

According to the FHP, the driver who was injured was transported to Jackson North Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver remained at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation. It’s unclear whether either driver will face charges, although troopers identified the man who was injured as the “offender” and the other driver as the “victim.”
