BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning Sunday night for parts of Broward County, including Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach, where heavy rain from slow-moving thunderstorms has already inundated some areas.
Doppler radar detected thunderstorms producing torrential rainfall, with between 3 and 5 inches already fallen, forecasters said. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain are possible before the storms move out.
Residents are urged to avoid flooded roads and seek higher ground if necessary.
