MIRAMAR, Fla. — The city of Miramar is doing what it can to help the residents of Jamaica who are preparing for Hurricane Melissa.
On Sunday, Miramar opened six locations where people can drop off life-saving goods to help those in need.
The city is asking for residents and businesses to donate essentials like tarps, flashlights, non-perishable foods, and personal care items.
The island is already seeing panic with storm preps as empty shelves have been seen at supermarkets throughout.
Residents are buying any food and supplies they can as they prepare for the worst.
