POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — A Broward County man was taken into custody over the treatment of his dogs.
According to an arrest report, deputies responded to a home along the 100 block of Northwest 18th Street in Pompano Beach where they found two dogs in cages, in the home’s driveway, in the direct sunlight with no cover.
Deputies with the Broward Sheriff’s Office said the dog’s owner, identified as 45-year-old Daniel Gallumette, “unnecessarily deprived his two dogs of necessary sustenance, food and shelter.”

Additionally, deputies said they had received complaints that the dogs has been caged in the driveway for several days.
According to an arrest form, Gallumette told deputies that he was “unable to provide adequate food or water.”
Deputies also stated in the arrest form that Gallumette “did, in fact, resist, obstruct, and oppose deputies” as they were attempted to investigate, stating that he “refused to identify himself.”
Gallumette was taken into custody on charges of torment, deprive, mutilate, kill an animal and resisting or obstructing an officer without violence.
He was no longer listed as in custody as of Wednesday afternoon.
