DANIA BEACH, Fla. — Santa and Mrs. Claus made a splashy entrance at the Bass Pro Shops in Dania Beach, arriving not by sleigh but by boat to mark the start of the store’s annual “Santa’s Wonderland.”
Families gathered Saturday to welcome the Clauses and shift from Halloween to the holiday season.
“It seems to come quicker every year,” said Chris Smeetun, Bass Pro’s general manager. “It’s a quick turnaround from Halloween to Christmas, but they’re ready.”
Inside the store, the holiday attraction features festive decorations, hot chocolate, cookies and gifts.
From Saturday through December 24, families can see the displays and take photos. Staff spent more than a week putting it all together, and you can already feel the holiday spirit.
This year marks the 17th year Bass Pro Shops has hosted Santa’s Wonderland, Smeetun said, calling it “another great year for kids to have some fun.”
The festivities include story time with Mrs. Claus and free photos with Santa, which begin Sunday.
