MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — A 19-year-old cashier at a Miami Gardens McDonald’s is facing five felony charges after police said he pulled a gun on five customers in the drive-thru early Sunday morning.
Investigators said the incident happened at around 12:25 a.m. at the Golden Arches at 4686 NW 183rd St.
According to an arrest report from the Miami Gardens Police Department, the victims told investigators that they had come to the restaurant to pick up an online order and “that they had been there a long time waiting for their food.”
That’s when cashier Anthony Markeith Elliott III “began giving them attitude and argued with them,” the report states.
The victims told investigators that Elliott, of Miami, told them he would “come outside,” then did so and “flashed a gun” from his waistband, police said.
“They stated they continued arguing with him and then he approached the car and pulled the gun from his (waistband) and pointed it at them in the car,” an MGPD officer wrote in the report. “They described the handgun as a silver handgun with a black grip.”
Police said Elliott made an admission, which was redacted from the report.
Authorities said the store manager also corroborated the victims’ account of the incident and Elliott was arrested.
Elliott, facing five counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, remained in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $5,000 bond as of late Monday morning.
