HOMESTEAD, Fla, — A 39-year-old woman was arrested Monday morning after authorities say she beat her daughter with a belt during a dispute over household chores.

Homestead police said officers responded around 10 a.m. to a home near the 2000 block of Southeast 17th Avenue after receiving a report of a female allegedly assaulting a child.

The suspect was identified by police as Arieauna Lecarol Hall.

According to the arrest report, Hall told investigators that her daughter had been disrespectful and refused to clean the bathroom, including a mess involving slime in the sink.

Hall allegedly pushed her daughter, threatened to “cut her hands off” and struck her repeatedly with a belt, the report stated.

The girl reportedly fled to the family vehicle for safety but was found by Hall, who continued the alleged abuse, police said.

Witnesses, including Hall’s son, confirmed seeing the incident and hearing the victim yell for help, according to the report.

Investigators said the girl had visible injuries, including redness and welts, and was treated on scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue before being transported to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

Authorities also notified the Department of Children and Families, which is creating a report on the incident.

Hall was taken into custody and faces one count of child abuse without great bodily harm, jail records show.

Authorities said she did not speak to police without an attorney present.

As of Tuesday, she was being held on a $2,500 bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
