‘You deserve to be hung’: Man accused of making antisemitic threats toward conservative activists

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — A 28-year-old Texas man is behind bars in Palm Beach County after authorities say he made antisemitic threats toward several Jewish conservative media members in Florida.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the investigation began on Oct. 12 after agents were alerted to violent threats posted on X by a user going by “Klaus” under the handle @zionistarescum, which they said was an account created by Nicholas Lyn Ray.

Investigators said Ray’s online posts, which were made between Oct. 8 and Oct. 10, targeted Joshua Benjamin Hammer, Seth Dillon, Karol Markowicz, and Laura Loomer.

The affidavit detailed a series of messages containing antisemitic slurs and repeated calls for violence — including hanging, public beatings, and killing — while accusing the victims of being Israeli operatives or conspirators.

The message targeting Markowicz said, “Russian genocide Jew whose family escaped prosecution in America. You deserve to be hung. Your family sure did pass on that filth of a f------ ideology though. Watch your f------ back,” according to the report.

Investigators said another post read, “Joking about this s--- as if Seth Dillon wasn’t conspiring with Israel about Charlie Kirk. These receipts are going to be perfect for display when you get hung b----.”

To Hammer, he wrote, “Traitor to America. You should literally be killed by a firing squad,” the affidavit stated.

Ray was arrested after an arrest warrant was issued and he was extradited to Florida, where he faced a judge Tuesday.

During the court hearing, the judge ordered that Ray have no internet access and allowed him to keep only a phone without internet capabilities.

Jail records show he is facing one count each of making a written or electronic threat to commit a mass shooting or act of terrorism, extortion or threats against another person, and using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Ray was being held on a $650,000 bond at the Palm Beach County Main Detention Center.
