MIAMI — Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo has been ruled out of Friday night’s game against the Charlotte Hornets after an MRI revealed a sprain to his left big toe, the team confirmed Thursday.

Adebayo, 28, is listed as “day to day.”

The Heat (4-4) were relieved to learn the injury is not expected to be a long-term issue.

Adebayo is averaging 19.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists this season while shooting 45.2% from the field.

Miami opens a four-game homestand at the Kaseya Center on Friday.

The Heat will then host the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday. That game will air right here on Local 10.
