HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Hollywood police asked for the public’s help Monday in identifying a man believed to be responsible for several chain-snatching robberies across the city.
Investigators say the suspect has targeted victims in multiple locations, approaching them without warning and forcibly snatching gold chains from around their necks before running off.
Detectives believe he has fled in a black sedan after the robberies.
Police released photos of the suspect taken during the incidents, along with images of gold necklaces they say he later pawned.
Detectives noted the pawned jewelry does not match items reported stolen in the known cases, leading investigators to believe there may be additional victims who have not come forward or cases where no suspect information was previously available.
Hollywood police are urging anyone who recognizes the suspect or can connect the pawned items to other possible victims to contact their property crimes unit or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
