Antonio Brown makes court appearance on attempted murder charge

MIAMI — Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is back in South Florida to face an attempted murder charge.

State prosecutors have charged Brown with attempted second-degree murder after investigators said he fired a shot that possibly struck the victim in the neck.

The incident happened back in May at an underground Little Haiti boxing match.

The victim claimed that he was grazed by a bullet in the neck, something that prosecutors were unable to confirm in court.

In June, a warrant was issued for Brown’s arrest but state prosecutors said he has been on the run ever since.

Brown was located in Dubai, where he was last seen posting videos on social media. U.S. Marshals traveled there and ultimately took him into custody before bringing him back to the states.

After initially arriving in New Jersey, Brown was extradited to Miami-Dade County, where he was later booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Brown was granted a $10,000 bond, and if and when he bonds out, he was ordered to stay away from the victim and will be fitted for a GPS ankle monitor.
