Police arrested Kutay Satiroglu, 45, late Wednesday night after responding to his yacht docked in the 5600 block of Pine Tree Drive in the city’s La Gorce neighborhood.

According to an arrest report from the Miami Beach Police Department, the 17-year-old victim’s mother called police after receiving word from another daughter that the girl was staying with Satiroglu and “was allegedly being held against her will and was being physically/sexually abused.”

The girl’s mother was aware that she had been working for Satiroglu as a yacht steward for the past two months, the report states.

Police said when they arrived, Satiroglu told them that the girl “was intoxicated and he called her mother to come pick her up.”

According to the report, once alone, the girl told officers that she “was in a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship” with Satiroglu and the two had gotten into a physical fight two days prior.

Police said the girl told them that “there were also two other females inside the yacht” and that “they were sexual workers for (Satiroglu) during his yacht charters.”

Human trafficking detectives interviewed the girl further and she told them that she had met Satiroglu, a Turkish national, at a nightclub in April, police said, initially claiming to be 21 but telling him she was 17 by the end of the night.

Police said he offered her a job soon after and “a romantic and sexual relationship” ensued. They said she moved into his apartment and then with him in his yacht.

Then, police said he started trafficking her, having the teen “engage in sexual relationships with his friends in exchange for money” ― anywhere between $200 and $800 per meeting.

According to the report, Satiroglu would provide the girl with drugs during the encounters and at parties.

“In addition, (Satiroglu) would force (her) to call her girlfriends to come over and have sex with (him),” the report states. “If she did not comply, he would discipline her by physically harming her.”

Police said Satiroglu was “physically abusive” and “often (beat) her whenever he would get into a bad mood,” but the girl said “she complied because she was in love with (him) and she wanted to make him happy.”

Authorities said Satiroglu declined to speak with officers, invoking his right to an attorney.

He faces charges of human trafficking of a victim under 18, lewd and lascivious battery on a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

As of Thursday afternoon, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with a bond listed in jail records as “to be set.”
