Tamarac man accused of possessing child porn videos of girl appearing to be under the age of 6

TAMARAC, Fla. — A 45-year-old man from Tamarac was arrested Wednesday by the Broward Sheriff’s Office on accusations that he was in possession of multiple child pornography files.

According to an arrest report, Amir Hekmatian faces four counts of possession of child pornography and one count of computer pornography.

Deputies said the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in September after Google reported that one of their subscribers uploaded eight files depicting child pornography to a Google drive.

The account holder was identified as Hekmatian, the report stated.

According to the report, a search warrant of the Google account revealed that there were four different child pornography files that had been uploaded on Sept. 6, along with four duplicate files.

Detectives said the files appeared to have been taken from Telegram. Two of the files were videos that showed a girl who appeared to be under the age of 6 being molested, authorities said.

Another file appeared to be an advertisement for additional child pornography and contained a message that read, “Download 779 child porn movies + telegram group access.”

Detectives said a review of Hekmatian’s Google search history showed that keywords were used to seek out child porn, including “7 year old very horny,” “yoing (sic) Russian porn” and “9 year old girl in underwear.”

Authorities said the searches were made from at least January through September.

A search warrant was executed at Hekmatian’s home on Wednesday and he was taken into custody.

As of Thursday afternoon, he remained held at the Broward County Main Jail on a $25,000 bond.
