Holiday season kicks off as Flagler Street tree lighting returns for third year

MIAMI — For the third year, the annual Christmas tree lighting is set to kick off on Flagler Street, where the Miami Downtown Development Authority has transformed three blocks into a family-friendly holiday spectacle.

The stretch of downtown is now filled with food vendors, live entertainment and festive displays — all part of an effort to create a welcoming way for families to celebrate the season. Organizers say they are thrilled to bring the event back and expand its offerings.

The holiday experience runs every weekend through the New Year. In addition to Christmas festivities, organizers plan to light a menorah on Dec. 14 to commemorate the first night of Hanukkah, emphasizing their commitment to celebrating and uniting the community.
