According to his arrest report, the incident happened at about 5 p.m. Monday along the Beachwalk off 71st Street and Collins Avenue.

Police said the officer, who was in full uniform, saw the suspect, Noah Aloush, riding the standup electric scooter on the Beachwalk, which isn’t permitted, and stood in front of Aloush and held out his hand, motioning him to stop.

According to the report, Aloush accelerated toward the officer, intentionally striking him with the scooter.

Police said the officer fell to the ground and Aloush lost control of the scooter and also fell down.

Aloush then made eye contact with the injured officer, got back on the scooter and took off, authorities said.

Police said multiple officers responded to the area and spotted Aloush at 65th Street and Collins Avenue, but he fled from them at a high rate of speed, even traveling against traffic at some points.

According to the arrest report, Aloush eventually lost control of the scooter and fell to the ground.

Police said he continued to resist arrest as he was being handcuffed and was stunned with a Taser.

Both the victim, identified only as Officer Blanco in the arrest report, and Aloush were taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center to be treated for their injuries.

Aloush has since been released from the hospital.

He faces charges of aggravated assault of a police officer, fleeing and eluding police, resisting an officer without violence, failure to obey a police officer and reckless driving.

Blanco appeared in bond court Tuesday where he asked the judge for an elevated bond for Aloush as he said he believes Aloush is a flight risk.

He said he believes Aloush intentionally struck him with the scooter and, despite the Miami address listed in his arrest report, said Aloush is actually a resident of California and has a California driver’s license.

Aloush claimed he is currently a graduate student at the University of Miami.

As of Tuesday afternoon, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $20,500 bond.
