Authorities have released the 911 calls corresponding with the shooting death of TikTok star Girlalala.
Police have since arrested Shanoyd Whyte Jr., 25, for the killing.
In the 911 calls, you can hear the pain and fear in the voice of Girlalala, 21, whose real name is Maurice Harrison.
She called for help after police said she was shot by Whyte.
Video from a Tesla captured who appears to be Whyte getting out of the driver’s side of a beige sedan along the 3300 block of Northwest 37th Street in Lauderdale Lakes on Friday.
The passenger door opens, and relatives said that’s when Girlalala tried to get out, but Whyte is seen grabbing her by the hair and putting her back inside before pacing with a cell phone.
She was known for her wigs and social media presence, with nearly 300,000 followers on TikTok and more than 40,000 on Instagram.
Behind the scenes, friends and relatives say Girlalala and Whyte had a tumultuous relationship.
Broward Sheriff’s Office investigators said they were together for several years and that they had a verbal argument in the car that turned physical, and that’s when she was shot.
A neighbor who did not want to be identified told Local 10 News his wife heard a gunshot around the time of the shooting.
Whyte, who played football at Bethune Cookman during his freshman year of college, was arrested once before for domestic violence in November of 2022.
That victim, who Local 10 News has confirmed was not Girlalala, was physically and maliciously battered by Whyte multiple times, but declined to go further with the case.
