MIAMI — Authorities are investigating a carjacking Wednesday afternoon in southwest Miami-Dade, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 1:45 p.m. to the area of Southwest 78th Court and 40th Street after a woman said two men had pickpocketed her and stole the keys to her vehicle.

The men then drove off in the car, officials said.

The vehicle was later recovered near the Golden Glades interchange, after the two men bailed out and fled on foot. Deputies detained the two men believed to be involved.

Detectives have since taken over the case. No further information has been released.
