Travelers report smooth sailing at South Florida airports as holiday week begins

Air travel in South Florida going smooth so far as holiday travel week begins

MIAMI — There were plenty of travelers seen around South Florida’s major airports, but most reported things were running smoothly as we head into the holiday week.

TSA said it was expecting Sunday to be the busiest air travel day of the week.

AAA ranked Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport among the top three travel destinations for Americans.

Airlines are expected to carry over 31 million people this week.

Inside MIA’s central terminal, leading to Concourses E, F, and FG, TSA security lines were moving just fine Sunday afternoon.

This all coming after the longest government shutdown in U.S. history caused many flight cancellations and delays.
