Fire damages Coconut Creek home, 2 pets hospitalized

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. — A fire investigation is underway after flames erupted inside a home in Broward County.

Newly obtained video showed the damage to the second floor of the home located along Northwest 14t h Street in Coconut Creek as crews worked to put out hot spots.

Authorities said the call came in at approximately 6:15 p.m.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire, according to officials.

Police said two pets that were inside the home were taken to an animal hospital due to smoke inhalation.

Those dogs, both chihuahuas who are named Brownie and Pepper, have since been released from the hospital and are considered to be okay, according to authorities.
