TAMARAC, Fla. — A Tamarac man is facing 17 charges for posing as a 15-year-old girl to obtain lewd videos from teenage boys on Snapchat, according to court documents obtained by Local 10 News on Tuesday.
Deputies said the investigation into Jorge Andree Reynaga, 28, began in July after Snapchat tipped off the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which, in turn, tipped off the Broward Sheriff’s Office, that he had uploaded a screen recording of a video call with an underage boy.
A BSO arrest report states that detectives found out that Reynaga had been chatting with five boys who identified themselves as being 13 to 15 years old.
Posing as a teenage girl, authorities said they found evidence that Reynaga “badgered” a boy to engage in nude video calls, which he then recorded.
He also sent the boy pornography and offered to pay him $100 to perform a lewd act on camera, deputies said.
Investigators said Reynaga was previously investigated for child sexual abuse material in 2021 and “was also found to have been arrested in 2017 for lewd and lascivious acts involving two developmentally disabled children he lured into his apartment in Coral Springs.”
Authorities said he received deferred adjudication in the latter case because he was found incompetent to stand trial.
Reynaga was also the subject of several tips from Snapchat and the chat application Kik about child sexual abuse material, deputies said.
On Thursday, the BSO SWAT team executed a search warrant at Reynaga’s home in the 4900 block of Northwest 47th Avenue. Deputies said he fled out the back door and was later captured.
According to the arrest report, after seizing his devices, deputies found “at least 10 videos” of “prepubescent boys and girls engaged in sexual conduct” on his Samsung Galaxy tablet.
They arrested him on more than a dozen charges, most related to the possession of child sexual abuse material and child solicitation.
BSO records show that Reynaga was being held at the agency’s Main Jail on a bond of more than $400,000.
