OAKLAND PARK, Fla. — A male teenager was taken to the hospital Wednesday evening after a shooting near the 5800 block of North Andrews Avenue, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the area around 6:30 p.m. and found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound. Oakland Park Fire Rescue transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.

BSO said detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit were notified and are leading the investigation.

No additional details have been released.
