3 escape injury as Brightline train collides with car

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. — An elderly woman and two bystanders escaped unharmed Saturday evening after her car became stuck on train tracks and was struck by a Brightline train, Hallandale Beach police said.

The woman’s vehicle became stuck at Hallandale Beach Boulevard and Dixie Highway. Two people tried to move it but were unable to do so before the train arrived, police said. All three were able to get out and reach safety before the impact.

The intersection remains closed as police investigate with Brightline officials.

No further information has been released.
