Landscaper shocked by power line while working on tree in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A landscaper in his 30s was rushed to the hospital Saturday morning after he was shocked while working on a tree in Fort Lauderdale, authorities confirmed.

It happened near the 1800 block of Southeast 24th Street.

Fort Lauderdale police said the man was about 20 feet up the tree performing landscaping work when he apparently came into contact with a power line.

Officers said they arrived to find him unconscious and not breathing. He was taken to Broward Health Medical Center.

His identity or condition has not been released at this time.
