MIAMI — Students at F.S. Tucker K–8 Center got their first look Wednesday at a newly refurbished sensory room designed to support children with autism and other sensory needs.
The space, unveiled on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, includes “air walls” that mimic trickling water and a color-changing “nano wall,” offering tactile and visual feedback for students who may become overstimulated.
Inter Miami CF and Major League Soccer funded the project through this year’s MLS Legacy initiative, partnering with KultureCity.
“We as a club are extremely involved with the IDD community,” said Camila Jocelyn-Holt, Director of Community Engagement for the club, adding that two more schools are slated to receive similar rooms in 2026.
Inter Miami players Ian Fray, Yannick Bright and Noah Allen attended the reveal and played soccer with students.
“I grew up here, and to see kids running around with smiles on their faces—it’s the best thing you can do,” Fray said.
