SWEETWATER, Fla. — An abandoned dog has found his forever home in Miami-Dade County.
Surveillance video shows a woman abandoning the neglected dog on Wednesday near Southwest 103 Avenue and Second Street in Sweetwater.
Abraham Siu found the goldendoodle pacing anxiously in his yard. His surveillance camera recorded the video of the woman dropping off the dog.
Siu shared the video on a neighborhood app. Wag Spot groomed the goldendoodle, and Pastor Garcilazo decided to adopt and rename “Leo.”
Garcilazo noticed the dog understands Spanish, so it’s “Sientate,” instead of “Sit!” And, he gives him treats and kisses. “Leo” wore a red sweater.
“I don’t know the reasons why she did it,” Garcilazo said on Friday, adding, “There are ways to do it.”
Miami-Dade County Animal Services, which keeps an animal abuser registry online, and the Sweetwater Police Department responded to the case.
