PLANTATION, Fla. — A shooting in a Plantation neighborhood briefly led to a lockdown at a nearby middle school on Monday.
One victim was taken to an area hospital after the shooting, which happened along Northwest 16th Street and 70th Avenue.
Police said Plantation Middle School was placed on lockdown for about 30 minutes as a precaution.

Investigators said a fight broke out between two children, off school grounds and after school hours, when one of them opened fire, injuring the victim.
Police didn’t release the ages of the victim or anyone involved, but video shared with Local 10 News showed what appeared to be a teenage boy being taken to the hospital.
Authorities said his injuries weren’t life-threatening.
Police said they are working to identify a suspect.
