FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Fort Lauderdale police officers said they arrested a woman at a hospital after she assaulted a staff member.
According to police, an off-duty officer responded to a call from Broward Health Medical Center staff after a patient had locked herself in a bathroom.
Police said an officer escorted the patient, who has been identified as 24-year-old Alicia Strube, back to her room.
Once in a room, a doctor arrived to inform her she was being Baker Acted, and police said that’s when Strube become hostile and attacked the doctor, kicking him in the legs despite being held back by the officer.
Strube was arrested and charged with assault on a Department of Health employee.
