HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — It may be warm and sunny in South Florida, but inside the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital NICU at Memorial Hospital West, it’s starting to look a lot like winter.
For the unit’s annual “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” celebration, staff turned the space into a playful winter scene, featuring a hot cocoa setup, a penguin igloo, a “Frosty the Snow Baby,” twins wrapped like presents and even a tiny “Santa baby.”
The tradition brings comfort and a little holiday magic to families spending the season in the hospital.
With creative backdrops, sparkling props and a staff determined to make the moment special, the tiniest patients get their own festive spotlight.
Memorial Healthcare System leaders say they’re proud of the caregivers who put so much heart into the event — a reminder that compassion remains central to the work they do.
