Upon arrival, police said they found Daniel Neish walking toward them with gunshot wounds to his legs and hip while holding a handgun.

Officers said they secured the gun and provided “tactical medical aid” before Neish was eventually taken to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

A second man, who said he was inside the house at the time, told police that Neish pointed a gun at him, and he fired back in self-defense, according to investigators.

They said the home sustained multiple bullet holes, but no other injuries were reported.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit and crime scene investigators said they obtained a search warrant for the residence as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities said additional details may change as the investigation continues.

Neish has not yet appeared on the Broward County jail website as of Friday morning.
