MONROE COUNTY, Fla. — Two women were arrested Friday for allegedly stealing more than $2,000 in groceries from a Winn-Dixie on Big Pine Key, authorities confirmed.
Erlinda Caridad Hernandez Ramos, 53, of El Portal, and Yaniuska A. Morera Carmona, 42, of Stock Island, both face charges of grand theft, according to Adam Linhardt, a spokesperson with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Linhardt said the women left the store around 6 p.m. with two full shopping carts without paying.
He said a witness recorded the alleged theft, showing the women leaving the store and loading the items into an SUV. The total value of the stolen items was approximately $2,354.94.
Deputies located the SUV shortly afterward on Stock Island, arrested the women, and took them to jail.
Jail records show Hernandez Ramos is set to be arraigned at 9 a.m. on Dec. 30. Morera Camona is scheduled to be arraigned at 8:45 a.m. on Jan. 8, 2026.
