NORTH MIAMI, Fla. — An apartment building caught fire Friday night in North Miami, prompting a second-alarm response from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
The fire broke out near Northeast 18th Drive, close to Biscayne Boulevard and Sans Souci Boulevard. Crews were seen battling heavy flames as the fire spread through the building.
Neighbors say the fire started on the first floor and quickly moved to the second.
One resident described seeing flames from the rooftop as the fire rapidly intensified.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze, but officials have not released information on what caused the fire or the condition of the building.
There has been no word on injuries. The investigation remains ongoing.
