WEST PARK, Fla. — A chaotic scene in West Park came to an end Friday morning after what authorities say was a police chase involving a stolen vehicle, ending with the arrest of two men.
The incident unfolded just off Hallandale Beach Boulevard near Southwest 56th Avenue around 10:30 a.m.
Investigators said the pursuit appeared to begin earlier on Interstate 95 near Pembroke Road and continued past Hollywood Boulevard.
A Range Rover believed to be at the center of the investigation was found at the scene. A man told reporters the SUV had been stolen from his home in the Hollywood area around 9 a.m. and was later tracked with the help of law enforcement.
Nearby surveillance video showed two men running from the area as Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived and secured the scene.
Video from Sky 10 showed a calmer scene after the pursuit ended.
Authorities said a brief foot chase followed, during which Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies quickly located and arrested one suspect. With assistance from K-9 units, deputies later found and arrested the second suspect.
Officials have not released the identities of the men or said whether charges have been filed. No other details were immediately released.
