KEY LARGO, Fla. — A 36-year-old man from Key Largo was arrested Thursday after he stole several items from a vehicle, authorities announced Friday.
According to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Adam Linhardt, deputies were called to Avenue D near Mile Marker 101 at about 4 p.m. after the suspect, Roberto Manuel Ceballos, was seen entering a car and stealing a pair of sunglasses, shorts and a Polaroid picture.
“Shortly thereafter, the suspect, armed with two knives, approached several teenagers who initially wished to confront or speak to him. The juveniles subsequently ran away,” Linhardt said in an email to Local 10 News.
Ceballos was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a weapon, burglary and theft.
