MIAMI — Flight operations at Miami International Airport are being disrupted following the United States’ capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, authorities and airlines reported Saturday.
Restricted airspace near Venezuela and parts of the Caribbean are affecting some flights at MIA, prompting delays and cancellations. Passengers were urged to check their flight status with their airlines before traveling to the airport.
According to FlightAware, as of Saturday morning, a total of 142 flights at Miami International were delayed, both within the U.S. and internationally. Additionally, 50 flights were canceled. American Airlines confirmed the disruptions, which come amid heightened airspace restrictions in the region.
