He has been identified as Armani Cherenfant, 19, of Little Haiti.

According to police, Cherenfant was part of a violent gang known as ABK and over several days in late October and early November, officers observed Cherenfant and other individuals believed to be in the gang arriving at a home along the 10000 block of Southwest 162nd Street with high-end vehicles worth in the range of $100,000.

Investigators said the home was an Airbnb that was converted to mimic a bank call center.

Police said they raided the home on Nov. 5 and made a total of 11 arrests, including four people who tried to flee out of the back of the home.

Among those arrested was Cherenfant, whose occupation is listed on an arrest report as “content creator.”

According to authorities, upon searching the home, officers found what they described as “indications of an organized fraudulent setup in the living room.”

Police said a TV was playing a call center background sound playlist off YouTube, and there were “multiple laptops, secondary Samsung phones” on a table in the room in what officers called “an elaborate effort to spoof victims,” according to an arrest form.

Also found were five guns, multiple debit, credit, medical cards and driver’s licenses that did not belong to anyone at the home, and what officers called “gang paraphernalia,” police said.

Cherenfant was arrested by police on a felony charge of conspiracy to commit an organized scheme to defraud and taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he is being held on no bond.
