Cecilio, described as affectionate and energetic, is part of a group of mixed-breed dogs from the island known as “satos.” They are known for being loving and appreciative of attention from humans.

HSBC’s Matthew Seligman said Cecilio is “an absolute lover boy” who may need some help with housebreaking.

“In the car ride he’s all over you, so you may need to put up a little divider because he will not give you any breathing room,” Seligman said. “But once he gets some of that energy out of him, he is an absolute lover.”

Seligman encouraged potential adopters to visit the shelter or apply online at humanebroward.com.

“You never know. You may come in just to walk around and take a look, and you may be leaving with something,” he said.
