MIAMI — Hundreds of people filled Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood Sunday as the annual Three Kings celebration returned to Eighth Street, also known as Calle Ocho, drawing families, city leaders and first responders for a day of music and tradition.
“Very excited for it,” said Stephanie Lozano, one of the attendees. “The vibe is fun, there’s music, so we’re pumped to get it started.”
The event, a longtime staple in the neighborhood, began in the 1970s and marks a Hispanic religious tradition celebrated about 12 days after Christmas.
Organizers say the festival is meant to bring families together.
“Bringing kids and families together to have a moment of family united,” said Rene Rodriguez. “Three Kings is something that we grew up with. It was all about the toys, but at the end of the day it was about family time.”
Crowds were entertained by Latin performers throughout the day, with music helping draw large turnout along the historic street.
This year’s celebration honored singer Camila Cabello, a Miami transplant originally from Cuba, who moved to the city during her adolescent years.
Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins presented Cabello with a key to the city during the event.
“She is part of the city of Miami, heart and soul,” Higgins said. “It is so wonderful that Camila has decided to come here and join us for Three Kings and kick 2026 off with some real Miami style.”
