Biltmore Hotel celebrates 100 years with roaring twenties-inspired gala

MIAMI — The Biltmore Hotel marked its 100th anniversary with a lavish black-tie gala, paying tribute to the glamour and elegance of the Roaring Twenties that defined its early years.

Often referred to as the “Crown Jewel” of Coral Gables, the historic hotel sparkled Saturday night as guests gathered to celebrate a century since developer George Merrick first opened its doors in 1926. The event brought the City Beautiful back to its roots, honoring the hotel’s role in shaping the community.

Guests dressed in formal attire filled the grand halls, enjoying an atmosphere of glitz and sophistication reminiscent of the Biltmore’s golden age.

As the Biltmore enters its second century, organizers and attendees alike toasted to the hotel’s lasting impact on Coral Gables and looked ahead to another 100 years of history, hospitality and elegance.
