OAKLAND PARK, Fla. — Two people were killed and a third was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in Oakland Park, authorities said.
Broward Sheriff’s Office and Oakland Park Fire Rescue responded to reports of the crash around 7:15 p.m. near the intersection of Northwest Ninth Avenue and Northwest 40th Street.
Investigators said two victims were pronounced dead at the scene. A third victim was transported by paramedics to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The extent of the injuries is unknown.
Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are investigating the crash.
As a result of the investigation, both northbound and southbound lanes of Northwest Ninth Avenue were shut down until further notice.
