DORAL, Fla. — The Doral City Council voted unanimously on Thursday to name Maria Corina Machado Path.

The mayor said Machado may be there for the unveiling that could happen as soon as Sunday.

Councilman Rafael Pineyro was the only Venezuelan councilmember proposed to co-designate Northwest 92nd Avenue, from 33rd Street to 25th Street, as María Corina Machado Path, honoring Venezuelan democratic leader María Corina Machado for her lifelong commitment to democracy, freedom, and human rights.

Pineyro said he has been in touch with Machado, and if all goes as planned, she will fly from Washington D.C. to join the celebration when the road is renamed.
