MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Security was tightened Sunday night at AT&T Playoff Playlist Live after chaotic scenes unfolded during the previous evening’s concert, even as a smaller crowd gathered along the beach.
Miami Beach police and event organizers increased their presence and screening procedures following Saturday night’s show, when fans broke through barriers and overwhelmed venue entrances, prompting safety concerns.
Sunday’s lineup featured Peso Pluma, Latin Mafia and Alvaro Diaz, drawing thousands of fans for the free beachfront concert tied to the College Football Playoff.
Despite the reduced turnout compared to Saturday, officers remained visible throughout the area.
Attendees said they were excited to see some of the biggest names in Latin music perform.
“It’s so good,” one concertgoer said. “Yeah, it’s so good.”
Following Saturday’s disruptions, the College Football Playoff and Miami Beach police acknowledged the security lapse on social media.
Officials said additional entrance lanes and metal detectors were added Sunday night to improve crowd flow and screening efficiency.
Authorities said the enhanced security measures helped prevent further incidents as the event continued into the night.
