CFP Trophy Trot 5K, 10K held in Miami Beach

Trophy Trot held in Miami Beach as South Florida gears up for CFP title game

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — The excitement is building in South Florida ahead of Monday’s CFP National Championship game between the Miami Hurricanes and Indiana Hoosiers.

Sunday morning in Miami Beach, the Baptist Health CFP Trophy Trot was held, featuring both a 5K and 10K.

Participants were there early and draped in the Hurricanes and Hoosiers gear.

According to officials, proceeds from the Trophy Trot support the work of the College Football Playoff Foundation which takes pride in lifting up educators across the country.

All donations to the CFP Foundation’s primary initiative, Extra Yard for Teachers, directly support teacher resources or programming related to the recognition, recruitment and professional development of pre-K through grade 12 educators, according to organizers.

Local 10’s Isabella Martin was at the Trophy Trot, and her report can be seen at the top of this page.
