Suspect in custody after Pembroke Pines bank robbery

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — Police arrested a man Wednesday morning following a robbery at a TD Bank branch in Pembroke Pines, authorities confirmed.

Pembroke Pines police said officers responded to a “silent panic alarm” at TD Bank, located at 7999 Pines Blvd., just before 10 a.m.

They said 33-year-old Michael Michael Paul, who has no known address, entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. After receiving cash, Paul left the bank on foot.

Officers quickly searched the area and apprehended Paul near 7800 Pines Boulevard.

No injuries were reported.

Jail records show that Paul has a history of arrests in Florida, including multiple misdemeanor and felony charges dating back to 2016. These include third-degree felonies, municipal ordinance violations, and cases handled through Mental Health Court, all of which are now closed.

Authorities said the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force has taken over the investigation They are now asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the FBI.

FBI agents also asked for the public’s help identifying a culprit who robbed a Fort Lauderdale bank on Wednesday.
