PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — As temperatures dip next week, a long-debated question is heating up: is it ever okay to wear socks with sandals?

Stars like Kanye West, Kaia Gerber, and Kendall Jenner have embraced the look. Local 10 meteorologist Brandon Orr said he sees nothing wrong with wearing socks with sandals when the weather turns chilly.

Some research supports the pairing.

Wearing socks with sandals can help prevent blisters or irritation, and a 2016 YouGov survey found that while nearly half of Americans reject the trend, the other half are open to it.

“Things are always shifting, and fashion always does,” said Local 10’s Jackie Pascale. “Style is becoming more fun and rebellious these days. To each their own.”
