MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — The Miami-Dade County Public School District named its teacher of the year on Wednesday.

Roberto Rabelo is a social studies and civics teacher at South Miami Middle Community School.

Rabelo has taught in the Miami-Dade public school system for a total of 37 years, inspiring students for generations.

His first teaching position was at Kensington Park Elementary School.

Rabelo is more than an educator, he is also a mentor, leader, and a hero, dedicated to showing every student they are limitless.
