MIRAMAR, Fla. — Some residents of a Miramar apartment complex were treated for minor smoke inhalation Thursday following a fire, first responders confirmed.
According to Miramar Fire Administrative Officer Tara Smith, the fire was reported at about 12:15 p.m. at an apartment building located in the 3400 block of Foxcroft Road.
Smith said firefighters arrived at the scene and found flames coming from the patio of a first-floor unit.
The flames were quickly extinguished.
“There was no extension to any other units or adjacent buildings,” Smith said in an email to Local 10 News.
Smith confirmed that some residents were treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation, but all residents refused to be transported to a hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
Smith said crews remain at the scene “performing cleanup activities.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
