SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. — A 35-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon following a road rage incident in Sunny Isles Beach, authorities said.
According to police, the incident occurred just after noon in the 17100 block of Collins Avenue.
Police said Samantha Jean Hutchinson, of Sunny Isles Beach, was driving east on Collins Avenue, around a truck that was stopped in the roadway, when another vehicle turned left into the eastbound lanes, causing both vehicles to face each other and for Hutchinson to get struck in traffic.
According to an arrest report, Hutchinson then drove around that vehicle and threw water into the car.
Police said one of the victims inside that car threw water back at Hutchinson’s vehicle, at which time Hutchinson exited her car and opened the front passenger door of the other vehicle.
According to the report, Hutchinson began arguing with the male driver and female passenger and then slapped the female victim.
Police said the driver recorded the incident with his cellphone.
Hutchinson was arrested shortly after on a charge of burglary with assault or battery.
As of Thursday morning, she was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Online jail records listed her bond as “to be set.”
