Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Marcos Marcelo Garibaldi, 62, of southwest Miami-Dade.

Investigators said the case began on Nov. 3, 2025, when the victim reported a stolen package to the Doral Police Department.

The victim told officers that he discovered the theft after checking his delivery status and reviewing video from his front door camera.

The report states that Garibaldi walked up to the victim’s apartment, located near the 8100 block of Geneva Court, picked up a package left at the front door, and walking away with it around 3 p.m. on Nov. 2, 2025.

According to investigators, Garibaldi was wearing glasses, a black polo shirt and dark-colored shorts when the crime occurred.

Detectives ran the image through facial recognition software and identified the suspect as Garibaldi. Deputies said a Coral Gables officer who had arrested Garibaldi earlier this year positively identified him from the video.

“He proceeded to drop off the Uber Eats package and steal the Amazon package,” Doral Police Chief Edwin Lopez told Local 10’s Rosh Lowe on Tuesday.

Lopez said the case goes beyond a typical porch piracy investigation, adding that Garibaldi has been arrested three other times outside Florida for similar offenses.

Police say investigators compared surveillance footage from gated communities in Doral to track the suspect.

“We were able to compare Ring camera video and clearly see his face,” Lopez said.

Jail records show Garibaldi is facing one count of petit theft. He was transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center following his arrest.

Authorities believe there may be additional victims and are urging residents to come forward.

Anyone with information on Garibaldi is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.

He was not listed as an inmate on the Miami-Dade jail website as of Tuesday afternoon.
