BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — A Broward Sheriff’s Office reserve deputy was arrested Thursday as part of a joint federal and local corruption investigation, authorities confirmed.
Authorities said Joshua Passman, 44, was taken into custody following a probe conducted by the BSO Public Corruption Unit, the FBI Public Corruption Squad, and the U.S. Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General.
They said Passman’s status as a BSO reserve deputy was terminated Thursday after an administrative review. The investigation remains active, and no additional details have been released.
Jail records show Passman is facing one count each of falsifying an official document as a public servant, obtaining property or communication over $300 by fraud, forgery or altering a public record or certificate, grand theft of more than $750 but less than $5,000.
Records show Passman has since posted bond. Local 10 has requested his arrest report from BSO.
