PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — Pembroke Pines police responded early Friday morning to a reported shooting in the parking lot of an apartment complex near the 7900 block of Johnson Street, authorities said.
Police said the shooting occurred just before 1 a.m. when officers arrived at the apartment complex and found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest and another with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
They said officers immediately began life-saving efforts until Pembroke Pines Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in stable but critical condition.
Investigators said they took 35-year-old Ariel Oden De Los Santos, the victim’s neighbor, into custody at the scene.
They said preliminary investigation indicates that a fight occurred between the two neighbors before De Los Santos fired multiple shots, striking the victim multiple times.
The investigation remains ongoing. No other details about the shooting were immediately released.
Authorities said De Los Santos is facing one count each of attempted homicide and burglary with battery.
